Local Beaches: Home Place is approximately six miles south of Combe Martin Combe Martin has two main beaches and two hideaway coves which are about a 1/2hr walk from the car park, one of which is a naturist beach.

Heddons Mouth (6 miles) has a pebbly cove. Woolacombe(top left) has long stretches of sand, its a "blue flag beach" with excellent surfing. Its busy at one end but as you walk away from the town it gets quieter. Saunton Sands has miles of open sand and plenty of good surf. Saunton has the advantage of backing onto Braunton Burrows, a large nature reserve. There are many more well known beaches within a 15 mile radius for example: Croyde, The Black Sands at Ilfracombe,as well as many sandy hideaways - if you know where to go you can almost guarantee a beach to yourself.
